PINEWOOD DERBY 2008

River and his Grandpa have been fevorishly working on his pinewood derby car for about a month now. They chose to do a futuristic theme to the car. It is yellow with blackout windows. Here are some pics from the race nite, which River's car came in 3rd overall, and got an award for Most Futuristic Car......

RIVERS BAPTISM AND CONFIRMATION

River has gotten baptised!!! Yesterday February 23, his grandpa baptised him and today February 24, he confirmed him in Sacrament meeting. River was taught the lessons by Elder Laughlin from North Carolina and Elder Arrowsmith from Mesa Arizona. River has been taking the Missionary discussions for more than a month and accepted to be Baptised. During the each lesson River sat as patiently as he could and listened to the lessons while cracking jokes to keep the mood light. River was very excited to have sooo much attention and to be dunked in the water.

At Rivers baptism, Cassie gave the opening prayer, Sebastian gave an excellent talk on Baptism, Spence also gave an excellent talk on the Holy Ghost, Nichole gave the closing prayer, and Grandma Sher led the music. We were delighted to have so many of the ward members come and support River, they have been really great to us during this process. River and I would like to thank everyone for coming and sharing this special experience with us, it was amazing for both River and I.

PRINCESS JASMINE

Our amazing family dog of more than 16 years passed away on Feb 18, 2008. We got Jazzy when I was 16 years old, which still feels like yesterday. Jasmine used to go from bed to bed in the morning til the last person was out of bed and she had no option but to finally get up. She was dads shadow for years and would follow him

always.

Jasmine was the pet that finally stuck. Not the ducks, rats, gerbils, snakes, cats, or other dogs, our Jasmine. And even though she got old and stinky and lumpy we loved her still.

River says that she is now in the big dog house in the sky, waiting for us.

We love you Jasmine!!!!

A BOY AND HIS DOG

Was scanning through my christmas pics and found this funny pic of River and Barkley, it made me laugh. Don't you think that Barkley looks like the dog from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas?"

Hey all, River will be getting baptised on February 23, it's a saturday, don't know what time it will be at yet, so I will let you know as soon as possible. River has done the first Missionary discussion and is getting his second one tonight! So please plan on coming and maybe getting something to eat after....River is very excited, but bummed out that Oliver, Carly and Winnie won't be there, but I told him I'd take lots of pics and put them online for everyone to see!! More to come....... The pic above was taken at mom and dads new house in the construction zone....can't wait for family parties with fantastic view!!

BASS & MEG & THE GRIZZLIES!!

This weekend, River and I went to a Utah Grizzlies game with Bass & Meg....we had a great time and the Grizzlies won 9 to 5....the best fight of the game was two chicks fighting over a puck that had been hit into the stands!!! Bass and Meg met at a Grizzlies game almost 4 years ago to the day......how romantical..... We love having you in our family Meg!!
